In a Channel Four poll it was suggested that nearly a third of young British Muslims agree with the suggestion "the July bombings were justified because of British support for the war on terror"

One in three 18-24-year-old British Muslims said they'd prefer to live under Sharia law than under British law.

Eighty one per cent of British Muslims said they thought of themselves as a Muslim first and a citizen of their country  second. Only in Pakistan was the proportion higher (87 per cent). Interestingly, nearly half of British Muslims come from Pakistan.

Instant scepticism has usually been justified in these matters, but who knows, the latest bomb conspiracy may be a stand-up case. There's no reason to suppose that it isn't going to happen at some point. It is, after all, something of a mystery as to why it hasn't happened already.

But let it be remembered that the plot was uncovered without 90-day detention or ID cards. Just good coppering. "Evening all."
